How Brinehaven Was Made

Brinehaven began as an experiment:

"Can modern AI tools build a complete strategy game?"

Over several HOURS I used Claude and Codex to help create the simulation systems, multiplayer networking, UI, and artwork while directing the design and implementing the project.

🚧 Now Building — "From sandbox to saga"

💾 Save states — save, autosave, and continue your empire across sessions

⚙️ Settings menu — choose your pace: Slow / Normal / Fast, plus pause and audio controls

⏳ Rebalanced pacing — a gentler, more readable early game (and the speed options above for those who like it fast)

🔓 Unlocks & requirements — you can't build everything at once anymore; tech and tier-gated buildings with richer resource demands, so growth is earned

🎯 Goals & milestones — objectives and a sense of progress, so there's always a next thing to chase

📈 A living market — real supply & demand: prices at the pier shift with scarcity and surplus

🧭 UI enhancements — minimap with jump-to-colony/ship, clearer supply-chain alerts ("Settlers need cloth!"), and an at-a-glance production overview

🔊 Sound & atmosphere — ambient seas and satisfying build sounds
